April 2, 2010. Journey to the Valley of the Moon, Mallasa ... Adjacent to the National Park ... Mallasa (La Paz, Bolivia) Author

On Sunday April 2, 2010, woke up early and head to our Toyota Corolla due to spend the day touring the Valley of the Moon distant only 15 km from the city of Peace. This is an amazing geological formation, where the main character is the erosion (rain and wind) on a plot by other fragile to about 3800 meters.

At the beginning of the journey we find a carving made we were told by local artist Mario Sarabia on local material in the valley. Unfortunately no indication of the work ...

The trails are narrow, rustic and perfectly formed part of the extraordinary setting, if the ride should be done with great care children as there are deep ravines.
This ravine was about 12 m deep and are quite common throughout the tour. Lumix FZ 50.

The general vegetation is sparse and restricted to certain sectors of the valley. Xerophytic and is mostly dominated by cacti (especially the kind Corryocactus melanotrichus and Opuntia spp.) Also green on these small islands can be found at Hummingbird (Hummingbird coruscans) large. Lumix FZ 50.
